SHEILA GRECO ASSOCIATES TODAY OFFICIALLY
RELEASES ITS 2006-2007 WOMEN IN TECHNOLOGY STUDY

New York – June 6, 2007 – Sheila Greco
Associates, LLC today officially release its 2006-2007 Women
In Technology Study.
Sheila Greco Associates has been tracking
women in technology since 1998, and today released the 2006-2007
study. This year long study continues Sheila Greco Associates
LLC’s annual review of females in the IT workforce and
more specifically, the female IT executive. Highlights of the
report include: an increase in female CIO's (up 9% versus 7%
in 2000) contrasted with an over all leadership slip of 12%,
a significant step back to numbers last seen in 2002.Other
study highlights include: 70% of women leaders have advanced
degrees, and the average female technology leader has been
with the current company for over nine years.
The study is based
on a comprehensive survey of information technology professionals
at 1075 North American Companies. These companies represent
public and pr ivate, with a vast majority of them being listed
in Fortune and Forbes.
"This research is a little unsettling
to me," states

I was hoping that we would have seen an increase of women
leaders as opposed to a decrease. Now I want to know why!
What are the influencing factors? Fewer women entering
the IT work force? Fewer women pursuing IT degrees as they
enter college? As more companies continue to pursue diversification
in their executive ranks, tracking and projecting the potential
employee population will be critical. It is our hope that
through our continued efforts in this space, we will be
able to assist our clients with understanding what the
market will bear setting expectations for their hiring
strategies."
